ClearSpace SA is a Swiss start-up aiming to clean up space actively. A spin-off of EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) in 2018, ClearSpace brings together space experts including astronauts, engineers, and researchers from all around the world to work on a mission for ESA (European Space Agency) that will ensure Space’s sustainability for tomorrow’s generations. The ClearSpace-1 mission’s goal is to demonstrate the technologies needed for future commercial debris removal as in-orbit servicing of failed satellites will become a new industry in the future. The mission will launch in 2025.
