CONFERS Fourth Standards Workshop

CONFERS will hold its fourth Standards Workshop in Colorado Springs, CO.  This event for members only.

This Workshop will be the fourth in a series of meetings intended to provide a forum to research, develop, and publish non-binding, consensus-derived technical and operations standards for on-orbit servicing (OOS) and rendezvous and proximity operations (RPO) in space.

The International Symposium on Ensuring Stable Use of Outer Space

The International Symposium on Ensuring Stable Use of Outer Space, organized by the National Space Policy Secretariat, Cabinet Office, Government of Japan, has invited CONFERS to take part on a panel discussion titled: “On Orbiting Services and Space Debris Removal” on March 1, 2019.   Dave Barnhart, CONFERS Research Director will be representing CONFERS on the panel.

Save The Date: Third Satellite Servicing Technology Transfer Industry Day

With this synopsis, NASA encourages domestic companies to save the date for the third industry day addressing satellite servicing technologies on December 6th, 2018 at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) and requests suggestions for the content of industry day. The focus of this industry day will be technology being developed by the Satellite Servicing Projects Division (SSPD) that would facilitate servicing of spacecraft in space, including cooperative servicing aids, features, or devices that complement on-going NASA development and could be used in various servicing areas. Companies may also be interested in these technologies to ensure that their spacecraft can be easily serviced by incorporating cooperative servicing aids.

CONFERS Open Info Session

Small Satellite Conference 2018: Utah State University Eccles Conference Center, Rm. 303/305

An increasing number of technology and business concepts are evolving which feature the use of small satellites to conduct rendezvous and proximity operations. The CONFERS Open Information Session will introduce an ongoing initiative, CONFERS developing industry consensus, best practices, standards, and norms of behavior to help enable these concepts. Members of the CONFERS Secretariat will discuss the current state of activity, provide information on ways to get involved, and answer questions about the initiative.
